Serbia on the eve of 1914 and the outbreak of the First World War. In rural households lives Ivan with his wife Smilja and two-year son, his mother and father, who is head of the family. Idyllic atmosphere of rural works and companionship, violates an act of war, because Serbia is not discount under the blackmail of Austro-Hungarians after the Sarajevo assassination.
